2 miles south of Hawick Whitchester is a combination of 3-star guest house and Christian retreat centre. This former Dower House of the Buccleuch Estate has been re-furbished to provide a balance between modern convenience and a 19th century country house. Whitchester offers a selection of twelve bedrooms over three floors. These include single, twin or double en suite bedrooms, including two family size rooms. Hairdryers and hospitality trays are in all rooms. The Annexe has two ground floor twin bedrooms, with ensuite facilities, suitable for those with mobility disabilities. These two bedrooms and the public rooms in the main house all have wheelchair access.
