Coldstream is a small town, population just over 1700 and is on the
A697 at the river Tweed, 9 miles north east of Kelso and 14 miles
south west of Berwick Upon Tweed. It is one of the Scottish Borders Towns which is the closest location to the Border between England and Scotland. Famously the Coldstream Guards
raised here by General Monk 1660 of which Coldstream are very proud. Local villages included on this guide are Birgham, Eccles, Greenlaw, Leitholm and Swinton to name a few
